I'm writing a story for NanoWrimo this year, which will also be a novel of mine. It involves a teenage boy's experience in a mental hospital made strictly for teenagers in the sixties. It's fictional. I need some serious mental illnesses that would place him in the care of a Psychiatric hospital but would also be easy to write. I was looking at a list of common disorders found in adolescents, but I was wondering if any knew any other types of disorders that could be serious.
