Hopefully not in a time of war, like maybe on a base to other recruits. What are some of the treatments that are most common? Thank you

Believe it or not the Army really does have doctors and nurses that do most of the "treatments". The DUTIES of an Army medic will depend on where they are assigned. (and they can really be different depending on where you are assigned)

Tell you to drink water, take motrin and give you a three day profile.

Other that that they do advanced first aid. They provide aid that will save lives. It is a very important job. If it is something you are considering it will be a very good choice. You may be running sick call, (basically screening and assessing patients) to being out in the middle of things attached to a unit as their medic.

when i was in iraq, my medic had to treat gunshot wounds and amputations almost everyday (mostly on iraqis). When it was time to treat our comrades, he already had experience and confidence from performing on the bad guys and iraqi civilians.
