What are some movies/books that discuss "natural" man, free from societal norms/taboos?

I caught a little bit of the supposedly homoerotic Blue Lagoon yesterday. :) And actually, I thought it was a decent movie, exploring an interesting subject. (Natural, unhindered, instinctual behavior, when removed from sociological influences)

Are there any similar books or movies that discuss this?
Edit - apparently the loincloth-clad boy is a gay icon. Don't ask me. :)
 
Lord of the Flies comes from a rather different perspective.

btw, how is a story about a boy and a girl homoerotic???
