What are some "hot topic issues" you would debate? Gay Marriage? Abortion?

My college class is required to do a project where we choose a " hot topic issue " and then pretend as if we are going to talk to the congress addressing our issue.The topic must be debatable, meaning you can oppose it or support it. The problem is my i don't know what issue to address. Please give me some topic you think would be good for this activity!

Examples: other people are doing topic such as- gay marriage, abortions, bringing back the draft, medical marijuana and health care reform.
I dont want to do a topic that others have allready chosen.
 
Well this is a little dirty secret but it will probably get you a good grade for thinking out of the box. Why don't you look up the unethical practices of infant adoption in the U.S. I know I know you are thinking "What?" but actually research it and its pretty dirty. Um here a website, read through it then find other sources that support it.
