What are some helpful garden pond resources and websites?

I recently purchased a house with a small garden pond. My wife and I have no experience with the maintenance of a pond and are really excited about maintaining one! We would like to include either goldfish or koi fish- which ever seems best for a pond that is about three feet deep and three feet wide.

The previous owner did a great job of of constructing and maintaining the pond, but at first glance there is a lot of green alge throughout the pond. Basically, I'm just looking for some good resources and websites on garden ponds- for beginners. Perhaps someone has some good advice or pointers before I begin?
