what are some good young adult books?

i read the twilight series...and i don't want to read any series...i'm really into horror stories btw...lol :D...i also like romance novels...so have any suggestion???
 
Frostbite by Richelle Mead. This is actually the second book of the VA series but the first book was not as well-written as the author was just starting out. I started with Frostbite myself and trust me, you're not missing anything out. Everything you need to know from the first book is in the prologue. It has romance-Dimitri is much more appealing, realistic and attractive than edward-plenty of action, and tragedy. The ending is sad but that is what makes it so good. This series is more compelling than the Twilight series.
The third and fourth books are called Shadow Kiss and Blood Promise.
