What are some good YA/teen books to read?

I'm not really interested in books such as Gossip Girl or Clique. I'm more interested in books like The Perks of Being a Wallflower and such.

Here are a list of books that I already have read so you can get an idea of what books you could recommend to me :)

House of Night Series
Gingerbread by Rachel Cohn and her other books, Shrimp and Cupcake. Also, Nick and Norah's Infinite Playlist.
The Lovely Bones by Alice Sebold
Twilight by Stephenie Meyer (it was meh.)
Chinese Cinderella by Adeline Yen Mah (I love books like this!)
Lurlene McDaniel books (reaallyy good!)

and I forgot the rest -.-

But basically I would like a real teen drama book like The Perks... and books like Chinese Cinderella about Chinese women and their hardships in life back in the 1900s or any other time. I'M NOT INTERESTED IN GO ASK ALICE. SO PLEASE DON'T RECOMMEND THAT.

You could try the Uglies series, by scott westerfield. honestly the books are nothing like you'd think. they're really good.
(i'm not good at giving details about a book without giving away anything sorry haha)
Also i really liked
Tithe by Holly Black.
Avalon High by Meg Cabot.
OH and the Eragon Series by Christopher Paolini. i know i know if you've seen the movie you wouldnt wanna read the book but really its an amazing series, the movie was just horrid.
this is just a bunch of random books ive liked, and i dont know if you'd like em but its nice to read something different and keep your mind open. :-)
 
Homecoming and Dicey's Song are both by Cynthia Voight. They are very good books and there are a few books that are related to those two that I have not had the chance to read but would love to.

Homecoming is about a group of siblings and their journey to find a home after their mother abandoned them. Dicey's Song is the sequel.

I would also like to say that I have read Gingerbread as well. It was a good read.

ummm....you should read the second book adeline yen mah wrote after she wrote chinese cinderella. i think its callled "falling leaves" or something like that.i dont remember any of the authors to these books, but just look up the titles on amazon.com.
