What are some good starters for a murder-mystery?

eh, dead bodies smell...dead bodies in basements make the house smell bad, it wouldn't be that long till someone found out.

How about starting the book as a third person narration of the killer dumping the bodies in something like an old abandoned train car, or I know, you know how some old school busses get randomly abandoned in woods sometimes? Maybe the killer was dumping them there but he didn't just dump them he set them up in the seats like they were riding the bus...and then somehow they get found...

I don't really want it to be a shooting in broad daylight, I want it to be where a couple finds that someone was using their basement as a dumping ground, or something. Anything mysterious. Thanks.
