What are some good species of Rainbow fish for my 3ft?

Hi there. Ive got a 3ft , 45cm x 35cm tank which is about 29 gallons. I want to get a school of rainbow fish. Just wondering how many I could keep and what species? I have a Fluval 4 1000l/h internal filter.
