Try the luxe series
or the wicked series
mortal instruments series such as the city of bones city of ashes and city of glass
and the tithe series is good too
a great and terrible beauty series

It's called marked by written by P. C. Cast & Kristin Cast. It is about a world where vampires have always existed and takes place in the school House of Night. there are 4 books in total.
 
Um...wow. I'd suggest googling "Good teen reads for girls"...it usually works for me...

in her shoes? don't know the author, but it's a movie...

My friend is a lot like you, she has actually read the Twilight Saga and The Host, those are her favourite books (especially the Twilight Saga). Seeing that the two of you are so alike, one of her favourite books that aren't listed above is the Night World Series by L. J. Smith. and the Uglies series by Scott Westerfeld. I'm obsessed with the Harry Potter series, and another series that I'm obsessed about as well (even more than Harry Potter) is the Charlie Bone Series, it's amazing and the books are so alike that they could be brothers!
