I love to read but now that im getting older i feel lost in Borders! the 'young adult' books seem so teeny boper and follow the lives of 15-17 yr olds in high school, yet the adult fiction is about 50 year olds! i just feel as though im stuck in the middle, please give me ideas of books you've liked or some authors you suggest.

I have really enjoyed the uglies series, fight club, donald miller/rob bell books, C.s lewis is good, but im really just looking for some good reads for the summer maybe some girly books, some romance is okay but im not into like gossip girl or anything like that.

Kissed by an Angel -by Elizabeth Chandler
----When her boyfriend, Tristan, died, Ivy thought she'd lost everything, even her faith in angels. But now she's discovered that he's her guardian angel -- his presence so strong that she can feel the touch of his hand, the beat of his heart. Ivy needs Tristan now more than ever because he knows she's in terrible danger. Only Ivy's guardian angel can save her now that his killer is after her.

But if Tristan rescues Ivy, his mission on earth will be finished, and he must leave her behind forever. Will saving Ivy mean losing her just when he's finally reached her again?

Uglies series -by Scott Westerfeld
---Everybody gets to be supermodel gorgeous. What could be wrong with that?
Tally is about to turn sixteen, and she can't wait. Not for her license -- for turning pretty. In Tally's world, your sixteenth birthday brings an operation that turns you from a repellent ugly into a stunningly attractive pretty and catapults you into a high-tech paradise where your only job is to have a really great time. In just a few weeks Tally will be there.

But Tally's new friend Shay isn't sure she wants to be pretty. She'd rather risk life on the outside. When Shay runs away, Tally learns about a whole new side of the pretty world -- and it isn't very pretty. The authorities offer Tally the worst choice she can imagine: find her friend and turn her in, or never turn pretty at all. The choice Tally makes changes her world forever.

Poseur -by Rachel Maude
---Charlotte Beverwil, Janie Farrish, Melissa Moon, and Petra Greene attend exclusive Winston Prep in the Hollywood Hills. And that's all they have in common. But hang out together? They'd rather be hanged. Borrow one another's clothes? They'd sooner borrow a zit. So when these four sophomores are forced into a class to create their own fashion label, they Clash with a capital C. Janie thinks Melissa and Charlotte are Beverly Hills brats. They dismiss Janie as a Valley rat in sheep's clothing. And Petra, well . . . Petra couldn't care less. Can a cool coquette, a shy punk, a hippie goddess, and a ghettoglam egomaniac make beautiful couture together? At Winston Prep, survival of the fittest comes down to who fits in-and what fits.

Wake -by McMann
----For seventeen-year-old Janie, getting sucked into other people's dreams is getting old. Especially the falling dreams, the naked-but-nobody-notices dreams, and the sex-crazed dreams. Janie's seen enough fantasy booty to last her a lifetime.

She can't tell anybody about what she does -- they'd never believe her, or worse, they'd think she's a freak. So Janie lives on the fringe, cursed with an ability she doesn't want and can't control.

Then she falls into a gruesome nightmare, one that chills her to the bone. For the first time, Janie is more than a witness to someone else's twisted psyche. She is a participant....

It girl -by Von Ziegstar
---Jenny Humphrey, kicked out of Constance Ballard prep school for being a bad influence, decides she'll do anything to become one of the popular girls at Waverly Academy. Like the author's Gossip Girls series, the story is full of label dropping. Sleeping around is casually accepted. Jenny rooms with two almost interchangeable big names on campus: Brett, who falls for the uber-rich newbie teacher, and Callie, who manipulates both Jenny and her boyfriend, Easy. The two girls are barely speaking because each one blames the other for their friend Tinsley's expulsion. Fearing that she will also be kicked out, Callie talks vulnerable Jenny into taking the blame for something she did. Jenny finds out she is as attracted to Easy as he is to her. The school's dirty little secret is that you can get away with almost anything as long as you are from a legacy family of donors, which may explain why Tinsley is being reinstated at the books' end-just in time for a sequel.

Peeps -by Scott Westerfeld
---Okay, Let´s clear up some myths about vampires. First of all, You won´t see me using the V-word much. In the Night Watch, we prefer the term Parasite Positives or Peeps for short. The main thing to remember is that there is no magic involved. We´re talking about a disease.

try Secrets of My Hollywood life- Jen Calonita
Peaches- Jodi Lynn Anderson

Matthew Rielly's Seven Ancient Wonders is fantastic and it follows a guy named Jack West Jr. Most of the main characters in this book are in their early twenties to thirties and its a really fast-paced action book.
A very good read! :)
If you're not into action, there's the Bartimeaus Trilogy by Johnathan Stroud.
Those books are really good too, but are more a fantasy type book. :)
And if you're into a more in-depth sad drama sort of story, My Sister's Keeper by Jodi Picoult is AMAZING.
Very good read.

Hope I helped!
:) :)

Books by:
Dan Brown
Sophie Kinsella
Lauren Weisberger
Not by:
Stephenie Meyer

The Heart is a Lonely Hunter, by Carson McCullers -- classic book written when the author was about your age

The Beet Queen & Love Medicine, by Louise Erdrich

Legends of the Fall, by Jim Harrison

The Bean Trees & Animal Dreams, by Barbara Kingsolver

All are good to break out of the 'teeny-bopper' section but are geared to young adults. They have a lot of depth but don't make you feel like you have to have the unabridged dictionary at your side to make it through.

someone one like you
its a good book. a bit sad.

twilight is a bit overrated, but a good read if you're bored.

I like books that aren't so mainstream.
A really really good book is Into the Wild of you are into nonfiction
its like my favorite book ever.

Two others I'm currently reading are The Beach and The Road (not related) they are both also really good.

Please take a look at these books, I promise you won't regret it.

i am 14 but i read and enjoy books for adults like Millenium ( see below)

Stravaganza- is my fave romance book of all times it's about this boy who finds a parallel world.
Born Confused-it's about a girl of indian decent growing up in america. but it is largely about her love life and a supposedly geeky boy becoming the love of her life. (it is very long and slow but really good in the end)
any book by Francesca Lia Block- i love her, all her stuff is really dark, even erotic at times but really, really good.
the Rainbow Boys series- really light and funny, chatty books by Alex Sanchez
The God Box- another good book by Alex Sanchez
Q&A- you might have heard about the movie Slum-dog Millionaire, this is the book it's based on
What's in a Name, Heart on my Sleeve, Hard love, Love and Lies- all really good books by Ellen Wittlinger
Just Listen and Someone Like You- typical YA books by Sarah Dessen
The Usual Rules- a brilliant book about a girl getting over her mothers death in the 9/11 attack
Fault-lines- a book about a girl who goes through a tough relationship by Janet Tashijan
The gospel according to Larry- another book by Janet Tashijan
Remembering Raquel -a moving story about what happens when a normal girl suddenly dies.
Walk 2 Moons- a brilliant book about a girl trying to recreate her mothers last trip.
Miss Chopsticks- a book about three girls making it in the big city even though they come from a small rural village
Garlic and Sapphires- Ruth Riechel about her times as a restaurant critic in New York
The Recipe for Happiness- about a life as a chef and how she overcomes a tragedy and falls in love
The Marriage Bureau for Rich People- a sweet and beautiful book
The Millenium Trilogy- so griping, but be warned very gruesome
Waterlemon- about a wife and what happen when her husband when he goes in to a coma
