What are some funny/weird fears your cat has?

I just bought a new purple and gold shaggy rug that my cat seems really afraid. Usually when we buy something new hes laying on it, running across and eventually will end up being his new sleeping spot but this new rug he won't even STEP on it! The other day I was sitting on the rug and he wanted to come get on my lap, he was standing on the floor that isn't covered by the rug crying looking for a way to get to me. Going from each end to the next, lifting a paw then looking down at the rug and backing up. Its so funny! I don't know how he sees the rug but I guess it looks pretty scary.

1 point for me! That means there is no chance of him urinating on it or shedding fur all over the beautiful rug.

So what are some of your cats funny/weird fears?

my cat when he hears the door bell it's like being electified
his hair pops & runs like crazy under the bed
can't get him out 4 like aan hour so we stopped using the bell & started knocking on the door
 
my cat was terrified of the pointed party hats. He would have a fit and hiss and arch his back and poof up and wouldn't let anyone who was wearing one even NEAR him. It was hilarious.
 
Olivia is afraid of my husbands loud yawns and the coffee grinder...she's listened to it every morning for 3 weeks now and still jumps a mile if she's in the kitchen and I start to grind for the morning...Oh, and police sirens. She hides under the bed at those!

Sounds like a fabulous rub by the way!
 
My cat Puss yeah Puss lol is afraid of the blender, vaccum, and of thunder, when it thunders she comes into my room and sleeps on my floor. When the blender or vaccum are on she runs and hides under the couch
