What are some fun outdoor activities to do with 2&3 year olds?

I help out at a daycare and we have outdoor play for an hour or so every morning. And although the kids do just play with bikes and run around and such, I'd like to try to do a planned activity (even for 15-20 minutes) while we are outside with them.

Usually we have between 3-6 kids between two and three years playing outside. And they are all very active.

Any ideas would be great!

If it is warm enough... finger paint and shaving foam... get some rolls of butcher type paper and let them go for it... the shave creme extends the paint and also makes it more fun..give each their own can.... let them do it not do it for them... they will end up painting themselves more than the paper... but that is the fun... and then it just hoses off... which is even more fun...

you should have some big plastic bowels to mix the colors in and big plastic tarps... to slime around on with all the colors...

Join in... it is FUN... take lots of pictures

Sidewalk chalk is always super fun.. Scavenger hunt.. Hide and go seek... Simon Says... Cloud watching... Playing Eye Spy... Collecting bugs, leaves, pine cones... Laying huge pieces of paper on the ground and having them trace each other on there... then later, coloring in each outline... Nature walks... blowing bubbles

You could teach the kids how to play duck duck goose. Painting is great outside activity, you don't have to worry about spills. Put a messy activity in the discovery table.
Treasure hunt- Hide dinosaurs in the sandbox or other things such as arrow heads.
how about an outside carwash on a hot day. they can wash their bikes.
Make an obstical course
