What are some flavorful ways to cook bone-in chicken?

Bone-in chicken is a much smarter choice considering my budget in college, but I don't like it. It has an awkward taste near the bones and just ehhh. I've tried it broiled and baked with all sorts of breading, seasonings, and flavors... and I just don't like it. What's a better way to do it? I thought about frying it because I like fried chicken, but that can get so unhealthy. Do you have a favorite recipe?
 
I like to marinate the chicken pieces in an oil based salad dressing, like italian, sun-dried tomato, oregano feta, etc. for a few hours in the frige, discard marinade and bake chicken.
Ranch dressing work well as a sauce too.

You can remove the bones before you cook it.
