For my Writers Craft class we had to make a set of poems (min 40 lines) about a theme. My choice was based on the cycle of a relationship, first falling in love, fighting, then accepting that the being "in love" part is gone but there is still love leftover, one of the quotes that inspired me for this was "love is what is left over after being in love has burned away." Anyway, a part of the project is to present the set of poems to the class in a creative and attention-grabbing way, a 10 minute presentation, and the poem must clearly be visible to the entire class.
My plan so far is to build a rollercoaster (symbolizing the ups and downs of relationships) out of popsicle sticks, then have a board posted behind it with a cloud at the peak of the rollercoaster and some little symbols and quotes and sayings with the roller coaster pressed against the board. However, I don't know how to present the poem because I don't think the board will be big enough for all three poems which are pretty long, and I was thinking of maybe recording it and then handing out sheets to the class so they can see it right in front of them.
Does anyone else have any other creative ideas? The 10 minute time slot is what worries me, I HATE presenting and when I read I read incredibly fast, and if I record it I don't know what I should be doing while the recording plays, I'm definitely not acting anything out though.
Any help/pointers/ideas will be appreciated, thanks!
