I heard you have to have pass the ASVAB test and the physical tests. What is that?

The ASVAB is the Armed Services Vocational Aptitude Battery
It basically tests you in many different areas, mainly related to career work. To get into the military, you need at least a 32. You should be able to get much higher though. And the higher you get, the better opportunities you get. I got a 94 on my ASVAB and I had recruiters from all the branches calling me before I had even gotten my test results because I had listed Military as my occupation after high school.

The physicals tests aren't that hard. You should be able to pass them even now.

Also, some other requirements are that you must pass a full physical examination at MEPS. (Military Entrance Processing Site) [I think.]

And you must clear a background check, and there are many, MANY forms and paperwork you must sign.

ASVAB you have to get atleast a 31. I got an 88. It is super easy to get a 31, that is no prob. For a female, you have to be able to do 3 push ups, something like 19 sit ups and run one mile in 10 minutes. They didn't even test me, I don't know of anyone who did do that, most recruiters don't make you because by the end of basic you should be able to pass your pt test reguardless.

You need a high school diploma. Don't think they are taking GED's at the moment unless you have at least 15 college credits. If you only have a GED you will need to score of at least 50 on the ASVAB.

The ASVAB is a general knowledge test to see what field of work you would work best in. Depending on your score depends what jobs you qualify for.

You will also go to MEPS and take a physical exam. They test your hearing, vision, if you can move your body freely etc. You will do a urine test as well to see if you have sugar, protein or drugs.

You need to be a citizen or have a green card.
Must be 17 (parental consent) or between 18 and 42
Criminial records should be clean. Waiver for somethings are authorized but fewer and fewer waivers are granted and this might not allow you for a clearance. Same with debt.
Must be in good health.
