I have a long drawn out story I'd like to share and get any advice possible. I'm 24 years old, trying to go back to school. I have around 2 years completed, a little less probably. I have essentially been supporting myself since I turned 16(though I know that it isn't recognized legally). I moved to NY from NJ a year ago to gain residency for SUNY. I will be finished my B.S. in Computer Science. I had a good job, with tuition reimburstment and benefits and the plan was to put myself through school one semester at a time starting this Jan(my residency has kicked in). My job however required my to drive a company vehicle and I was in 2 "no-fault" accidents and was fired because of it. I had worked for the company for 2 years and it's the only REAL experience I have aside from fast food management and retail(neither of which will pay enough for my to pay rent AND pay my way through schools without loans. The reason loans are not an option is because I had to drop out of school last time due to my family needing my help financially, the fact I was supporting my parents and 2 siblings took a real toll on my schoolwork and caused me to have a bad academic record, federal loans were halted until I put myself through atleast 1 semester of successful school. I have been looking high and low for jobs that will pay enough to help my situation, I have a seasonal position that works well but it ends in Jan and they have stated business is not strong enough to allow them to keep seasonal hires. I have a few other apps out there but nothing seems to fall into place. I just need to know how I can get myself jump started back into my college career. I have never been not offered a job I've interviewed for so; I know it's not me being unemployable or anything. I will gladly also email my resume to anyone just for insight on what kind of jobs I should apply for, because in the one field I have experience in and would normally be a prime candidate, I'm unemployable because of my driving record. I'm sure this seem a little rambling but I just fille dout applications for 6 hours straight and it's not 3am. Any input would be appreciated and any additional info I could give I will.
