biology)? Here are a few quick stats.
-2070 SAT
-SAT II - Biology E/M - 800/730, Math IIC - 760
-Unweighted GPA for Junior and half of Senior year: 3.78
-Weighted GPA for Junior and half of Senior year: 4.5 (The difference is big because I took like 6 APs)
Extracurriculars:
- 9 years of violin and member of the state youth orchestra
- Ultimate Frisbee (Fall and Spring)
- 80 hours of volunteering at Township Red Cross Center
- Certified EMT (Emergency Medical Technician). I have to do 24 hours of service in a live ambulance every 4 weeks.
- Member of "Future Business Leaders of America" Club (or FBLA)
- Nominated representative (of India) for GYLC - Global Youth Leadership Conference, but I didn't get to attend
My Freshman and Sophomore years were completed with India. My final overall grades were 74% for Freshman year, and 83% for Sophomore year. (In India, a 75% is an A and a 40% is a passing grade. Its not that their expectations are low, but that the material is so god damn hard). My schooling from Pre-K to 8th grade was in America
P.S. I wanted to know if an Independent Study Course looks attractive on a college app. During my junior year, I only took 5 classes (2 APs, 2 HNS, and 1 Regular) and 1 Independent Study. My teacher was a good teacher (she graduated from Princeton), and together we researched "The Psychology behind Love and Attraction". (By together I mean, I researched and explained it to her during our little meanings after school. I was wondering if this would look like an example of academic pursuit on my application.
P.S.S. My essay is about my experiences in the ambulance as an EMT. Pretty epic incidents I got to witness
