What are my chances of getting into the Army with a history of OCD?

Hi, I've wanted to join the Army for a very long time. Here's my only possible obstacle. When I was very young, in elementary school, I was diagnosed with OCD about hand washing and put on Prozac, and later switched to a lower dose of Prozac and Luvox. I was merely left on it because the doctors saw no reason to take me off of it.

Anyway, I want to join the Army incredibly bad. I found out I can't be on any prescription medications, so I talked to my doctor about ceasing medication, and since October 1st, I have been completely medication free. Given the nature of Prozac and Luvox, they have both been out of my system completely for over two months, during which time I have undergone the massive stress of engineering class finals without any OCD symptoms returning.

I know that when I try to join the Army I'll need a waiver because I was on these medications and I'll need to be off of them for at least a year.

So far, there have been no return of obsessive thoughts or behavior, and I also have an aerospace engineering degree and I'm sure I'll get a great ASVAB score.

Now, I'm asking people who are familiar with the waiver process what my chances are. I've read everywhere where people say "well, it will be on a case by case basis, so there's no way to tell", I know that already.

I'm asking now, what you would estimate my chances are. Do I have a good chance or a snowball's chance in hell?

The medication-free path is only used for those with a history of ADD/ADHD who want to enter the armed forces. So, your hope for using that as leverage as a waiver is not applicable to obsessive-compulsive disorder. A history of an obsessive-compulsive disorder is disqualifying. The source below is the specific medical standard.

You'll probably have a chance ,my teacher was in the army and she said in the army you have to learn to be organized neatness and cleanliness, they make you fold your underwear and place the EXACTLY 1 or 2 inches apart and they measure to make sure it is! it's tough but if you really want to go ahead see what your vhances are, good luck!

Don't be a tool for Fortune 500 Companies, don't join the army. There's no necessity.
