What are my chances for financial aid after academic dismissal?

I was academically dismissed from RPI (Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute) after the fall 2008 semester. For the spring 2009 semester I enrolled in a community college, and so far I'm doing fine in terms of meeting readmission requirements. My question is, if I'm readmitted for the Spring 2010 semester, what do think my chances would be for receiving adequate financial aid, if financial aid at all?

Rensselaer is a pretty expensive school (roughly around $45,000 a year), so without financial aid, there's no way I could attend. I've been searching the internet for information about financial aid eligibility after an academic dismissal. I haven't been able to find much specifically on RPI, but I did find something for another school. The school stated that students must fund themselves after being readmitted, and that they could qualify for financial aid after successfully completing at least six credit hours worth of classes while maintaining an acceptable GPA.

If RPI has similar requirements, I might apply for readmission for the 2010 summer sessions and hope that I could apply for financial aid based on my performance (which would hopefully be good). I would ideally like to return for the spring 2010 semester, but my ultimate goal is to just return period, so whatever looks like the best option is what I'll end up trying.
