I am just wondering I have met mostly people who support are veterans but have also ran into some people that oppose the war therefore they don't like soldiers. I mean there is no reason to blame the soldier they are just following orders. just wondering writing a report

How can someone blame the soldiers for the war? Those kids didn't start it, they're over there to do a job, and want to come home.

Its not easy being in the military in a foreign country away from your home. Believe me, I've been there.

Those kids should be respected, and the people who blame them for anything are ignorant.

I am a veteran and loathe this war however I don't hate the soldiers and sailors they are doing their duty as best they can. Though when soldiers abuse captured enemy personnel then i look at those soldiers with disdain and disappointment for they have lost their way. I also am disappointed when the pentagon rigs trials so that soldiers found breaking the rules of combat are let off lightly or let off entirely. This isn't the military I served in way too much politics in the command structure and it needs to be purged in a very rude and example making way so as to prevent it from happening again. As for most soldiers they deserve our praise and respect at all times.

We honor those who have made the supreme sacrifice for their country. And not only our country. Each person who has served, seen combat, have a connection that some one who hasn't won't understand. I don't think most people like war, but unfortunately it happens and soldiers are the ones who have to fight them, and, some feel the soldier is to blame for doing what he/she is ordered to do. These soldiers do not start these wars and we must look at who does, for what reasons and change our thinking. Why do we have a Secretary of War and not a Secretary of Peace? When we get one of those maybe we'll have made some progress.

Folks join the military for a wide variety of reasons, but they all promise to protect and defend this nation and it's laws as well our way of life.

The service members have made a commitment. It doesn't matter who is elected, it doesn't matter what they think of that person. They obey the will of the American people, as expressed in their choice of elected officials.

If someone doesn't support a conflict, that is fine; it is their right. Disliking service members for doing their jobs is badly off the mark.

Anyone who has ether served or is currently serving in the military is Americas bravest citizens who are also unselfishly willing to give their lives to protect this country.Just like firemen police officers ambulance drivers the list goes on & on.

my thoughts are as follows. i may not always understand what exactly they are fighting for, or what they fought for, but i still do respect the fact that it is their life, and they chose to go into the army/navy/marines/whatever. it isnt my life, i cant bash their career choice. they have their reasons for taking it. that is all they need. they dont need my approval.

so yeah, i may not like WHY they are at war, but hey, they signed up for it

why am i getting so many thumbs down? i dont support the war, but i most certainly respect and even honor the troops for doing something i could never bring myself to do. im getting thumbs down like you people seem to think im out in picket lines or something. i am NOT. i have the utmost respect for our troops. i just dont always like what they are at war about.

The American soldier is the only reason that America exists today. Without hard men ready to use force to protect our freedoms we would never have lasted, and without those same veterans the future wouldn't look very secure.
My salute to each of my brothers and sisters in the US Military, Past, Present, and Future.

By all means, I have no problem whatsoever with people being against the war. That's what freedom is all about, having the right to speak against a government's decision.

What I do have a problem with is people who attack service men and women who fight that war. There is no good that can be done hurling threats and insults at the men and women who put their lives on the line.
