A better topic might be why there is so little criticism of media hucksterism and slanted news coverage by the public. People seem happy to sit back and be spoon-fed the most revolting garbage by the media which always has an axe to grind.
Foremost should be a condemnation of media types who set themselves up as judges and interpreters of events when they have no more experience than the average voter, perhaps less. Then they call themselves "journalists" when they are more akin to the hucksters selling kitchen gadgets & etc. The Venerable Bede was perhaps the last journalist. Of all branches of the entertainment business, media "news" is the most likely to cause grievous harm.
