What are good meditation techniques that will allow me to "centre" myself?

I like the one where you find your gravitational center. It actually works too.

Personally I prefer some tea and yoga-type stuff.
 
Like many of us I have deep regrets, sadness, pain, anger and confusion and happiness. How can I learn through meditation or any other technique to stop these emotion clouding decisions and behaviour?
