What are good classic games?

I'm gonna be bored over the holiday, so I tried out Deus Ex and a few other "classics" and I really enjoyed them. Anybody know any other old "classics" that I might not have played? Preferably shooters...

Post 2000 please. Anything older then that is usually just painful to play today.
So I don't like retro gaming, call me shallow, whatever.
 
I just love classics.The games I'm playing right now are:
Mario forever; MDK2 (Murder,Death Kill); Dungeon Keeper 1 an 2; Pacman and Test Driver 6
