What are different ways to build downstairs bathroom?

I live in typical end of terrace with conservatory - and I am looking to build a bathroom / cloakroom downstairs - was wondering what the options are - some I know are
1. Under stairs
2. Side extension
 
use a 'microbore' system, no need for all that waste plumbing, saves a fortune eh
