While riding public transit in California, I offer my seat to all riders who are older than me, those using a cane or crutch, and to obvious pregnant women. I do not offer my seat to seemingly able-bodied women who are obviously younger than me (those in their 20's, 30's, 40's).
While riding public transit in the American South, am I expected to offer my seat to seemingly able-bodied younger women (in their 20's, 30's, 40's), as I understand that in the American South it is customary for men to offer women of all ages their seat while riding public transit.
