this is so strange, there are hundreds of WAV. file entries in media player and center, windows restore, alert, notify, ding, just to name a few, i just installed w7 a couple days ago, is this a glitch??
they sound like the system sounds for windows
like when you turn your pc & it plays the little tune when coming on, or the sound it makes when you empty your recycle bin
have you changed the directories where you add your music
No -it's a "I didn't pay attention when media player asked me if I wanted to scan for ALL sound files on my ENTIRE computer or just the personal files".
the first run on media center asked you if you wanted to scan for ALL sound files on your ENTIRE computer or just the files you have personal access to (music folder, documents, pictures, etc.).
Just because you didn't bother to read the question doesn't mean there is a bug.
And when you go to clean it up, make sure you READ THE QUESTION when it asks if you want to delete the files FROM YOU COMPUTER or just remove them from the library.
