What animal does nothing for the environment?

you sound like a moron
if alligators or crocodiles weren't around the food chain would be thrown out of balance among other things.
all life serves a purpose.

everyone has a purpose even if we don't know what it is
fact...humans although they think they do DO NOT have the right to know everything about everything

No such creature, They all have their part to play in the dance we call life. Alligators take down the weak and sick making room for the strong to reproduce. As for us we make it harder for nature to do what is has done for millions of years. We are the ones who have been unbalancing will continue to upset natures balance. All creatures great and small. have a part in the "food chain".

Every animal in the world has an impact on the environment, either positive or negative. In your example, if the alligator went extinct, fish populations would increase due to a lack of predation, causing a severe decrease in the population of the insects and algae that are eaten by the fish. One cannot say that an animal does nothing for the environment, simply because animals are part of the environment. At the very least, they maintain a balance between herbivores, plants, and carnivores.
