I'm new to this whole game, what amperage, or watt, or ohm do i need for this sub? also, how would i find this out, for future reference?
are there any fairly cheap, but good quality amps people would suggest?

The max watts on those subs are pretty low, you would be safe running any brand as long as it doesn't exceed 300 watts. I've owned one before and I had a boss 250 on it and it performed fine.

Rockford Fosgate offers two different models for their P1 10" subs: P1S8-10 and P1S4-10. Under the assumption the model you have is P1S4-10, one of the best amplifiers you can buy is the Orion Cobalt CO8001. Wire it at 4ohm and it will pump out up to 300 watts. After factoring voltage drop, wiring, etc etc it will give you barely over your max 250 watts RMS. Yes you could pump more wattage into this sub, but it is a Rockford and break down thermally if you push too much, as easily as 50-100 watts more (specifically for this sub). The amp is CEA-2006 Compliant and will draw up to 60 amps off your electrical system. You get buy one here (http://www.sonicelectronix.com/item_18885_Orion-Cobalt-CO8001-CO800.1.html) for $140.00, free shipping. Orion makes great products, built to better standards.

BTW: Pimpmyride, that Fockford amp only pumps out 150 watts at 4 ohm. If his model is 8 ohm, cut that wattage in half. If he put that in his car, he would be maxing it out, running it real hot. For less than $30 more, you get a amplifier made by a higher-end company putting out all the power he'd need and then a little extra.
