What all does a blood test check for?

I called a doctors office and asked to schedule an appointment because i was feeling very fatigued no matter what i did to fix it. They said they'd like to have my blood drawn for tests. What all do they test for?
 
Fatigue can be a side effect of many things. They will be checking a large number of things such as organ funtion, nutrient levels, infections, anemia, etc. Nothing to worry about until the test results are in though, right?
 
The only thing I can think of that they might check for would be for anemia, because your complaining of fatigue. It check your red blood count to make sure they aren't low. If they are thats the reason why you are feeling fatigue. Good Luck
 
They will probably do a basic metabolic panel to check your electrolytes for your liver, kidneys, potassium, sugar, etc., all of which are essential for your body to function properly. They will probably also do a complete blood count to check for anemia.
 
Depends on what your doctor orders - it's entirely up to him. One item might be checked or 50 could be. If you haven't had a check up in some time I'd think more rather than fewer tests would be performed.

Anemia or poorly functioning thyroid gland can cause fatigue, as can low testosterone, a variety of cancers, depression, low B12 or other vitamin deficiency.
 
probably: cholesterol, anemia (low red blood cell count and iron levels) and other tests like that, nothing to be too concerned about :).
 
Many things. Diabetes makes you feel fatigued, check your blood sugar. Don't eat anything for 6-8 hours before checking your blood sugar. It should be under 100. General practice doctors often misdiagnose diabetes.
