While out for supper tonight, a mother and her 2 young children were sitting beside us. The little girl was around my son's age(23 months) maybe a little older. Anyway she was screaming bloody murder at everything she would see. The mother was clearly getting frustrated(as I could imagine!) and she said to her "if you don't stop screaming you are going to sit in the car by yourself". The little girl said 'no, ok i good' Thankfully she didn't put her daughter in the car by herself, but I was thinking...has she done this before? Put her in the car alone when she was bad?
Then I was wondering...at what age is this acceptable? I don't think I would leave my children in an unattended vehicle until they were old enough to get out if there was trouble, but I really don't know the right age.
