What age do you usually start diving as a sport?

What age do you usually start diving as a sport? I would like to take lessons and join a team. I am 13 years old and am a boy. Are lessons expensive? Am I to old? I tried gymnastics, but I think I would prefer diving... Thanks and Ten Points!
