What a load of garbage Diary of the Dead was

Just watched it this morning, having recorded it last night off Film 4.

The whole story is poor, but worst of all is the acting. Were they professional actors? Doesn't look like it.

Most irritating is the old guy who's supposed to be a short film director. Dunno if he's supposed to be English or American but his accent is fake as anything.

The constant hand-held camera is a pain in the ass too.

How could George Romero get it sooooooooooo wrong...:confused:

its no "Dawn" or even "Day", that's for sure, but it's not THAT bad.
it has its moments.
Look at it as something Romero cobbled together in his spare time, and you appreciate it more.
i think the cast were meant to be annoying media teen brats, so we dont really care when theyre inevitably bit.

Compare this celluoid apathy to the HORROR of ,lol sh*t ive forgot his name, ive only seen it a MILLION times over the years too!-the truck leg munching bite in "Dawn" and Peters elevator bite.
EVEN NOW, i still think they MIGHT get away "this time".
Surely Romeros finest work?

This is actually one of the worst films i've ever seen. Romero went off the rails with 'Land of the Dead', but 'Diary' was just beyond awful. No wonder it's gone straight to Film4, i bet they picked it up cheap.

I agree it's complete shite. It's not as bad as the Day remake tho, which is the worst zombie film ever made.

I found it was watchable enough!

It's not a masterpiece by any means but it's not insulting or too badly acted, and it has the satirical elements you would expect from Romero.I'd give it 5/10 but I do understand the response from the huge number of zombie fans out there, because it brings nothing new to the table.

The "Day" remake had NOTHING to do with Romero whatsoever!.
I'm surprised he didn't sue the "makers".

Apparently, it's not against the law to name a film similarly titled to another, and fool the audience into thinking that theyre connected.

the old video shelves used to be full of misleading artwork/titles.
Stallones cobra was a good victim-some hong kong/italian z movie with almost identical packaging, not called Cobra tho.
quite a few punters rented this one, thinking their luck was in!! silly billys!!

Apparently, E.T. 2 is out next week.

Make it good and hot! I enjoyed it too (although it's no Sex Lives of the Potato Men).
Just to add to the blasphemy: if you want to see bad acting take a look at the original Night of the Living Dead, it's pretty amateurish. :o

Two of us in fact, I thought Day of the Dead 2004 was was one of the best Zombie movies ever, in fact the first one to ever really freak me out, shuffling Zombies no longer instil fear, running Zombies that never tire, that's a whole different ball game.
