I can't visualize a show like Darkwing Duck working today the way it did 18 years ago. In fact, thats true for all of Disney's earlier shows and the WB stuff from the early 90s. They just don't make shows like the these anymore, and I mean that from a technical standpoint. I cant just imagine them using anything close to the old art styles of these programs, especially since Disney shuttered their in-house TV animation departments, no one goes to TMS for American animation anymore and Startoons has also closed shop. I can also easily see them simplifying and stylizing the designs on the characters too and I just can't picture a show like Animaniacs or DW with digital ink and paint and computer generated backgrounds. And since they can't get away with some of the material they used to shows like Darkwing Duck and Animaniacs would end up seriously dumbed down and neutered. Really, who wants to see that? And in response to Mandi-chan, the pilot to DW wasn't really all that serious. I really wouldn't want to see them try to make Darkwing Duck anything more than what it was: a goofy, cartoony superhero spoof.
I echo other members here, lets get something original. I can always just be thankful I can get the complete series of Ducktales, Darkwing and Animaniacs on DVD...oh wait...I can't. Bite me, Disney and Warner Home Video.
