Did you know the Duracell National Fire Safety Report found that one in five Australians have taken down or removed the battery of their smoke alarm when it is accidentally triggered by cooking? I am encouraging everyone to change their smoke alarm batteries when they change their clocks this weekend for daylight saving. Winter is the peak season for residential fires and it’s important that you make sure you have a working smoke alarm, test it monthly and change the battery annually.
