Aw, come on...yet another classic film series getting a reboot!

Only a couple of days after seeing that Jaws is getting the 3D/reboot treatment, National Lampoon's Vacation is getting redone as well. :confused::confused:

Why can't the film makers come up with an halfway original idea instead of tarnishing the reputation of great classic movies! :mad:

What's next's Airplane 4 or Plane, Trains and (Electric) Automobiles!!!
 
i would say its more of a sequal not a reboot as chevy chase is said to be reprising his role as clarke griswald if it was the same story with diffrent people then it would be a reboot but im actually looking forward to this chevy chase is hillarious :D
 
This is one of my all-time favourite comedies.

"I'm going steady and I French kiss."
"So, everybody does that."
"Yes but Daddy says I'm the best at it."

The sequels never did the original justice.
 
I'd love to see a new "Vacation" with Chevy Chase, and Beverly D'Angelo as his wife.

Very funny film and as Gulftastic says, some really dark subversive humour.

European Vacation was so bad in comparison, but the original was so good I even enjoyed European because it reminded me of it.:o:D
 
It does sound more like a sequel than a reboot after reading this from Dark Horizons:

"Jonathan GolRABtein and John Francis Daley have been hired by New Line Cinema to pen a script that will essentially reboot the "Vacation" (aka. "National Lampoon's Vacation") franchise reports Variety.

Chevy Chase and Beverly D'Angelo would reprise their roles as Clark and Ellen Griswold in a film said to follow a darker and more interesting "Planes, Trains and Automobiles" style tone than the cruder antics of the various sequels.

The main focus would be on the pair's son, a now adult Rusty Griswold, who sets out on a road trip with his wife and kiRAB to the soon to be demolished Wally World. Clark and Ellen will only be small supporting roles apparently.

I have heard rumours about recasting Rusty with big names like Seth Rogan, Paul Rudd, Will Ferrell or Vince Vaughan being cast as Rusty!

The first couple of films were great (from a pre-pubescent teen in the mid-80s point-of-view!) but everything after that was STV cliched guff.


Look next out for "Three Men and a 20-something single mother on crack", "Ferris Bueller Gets a Job", "Weirder Science", "Bill & Ted's Awesome-ist Trip", etc. etc. etc. :D:(:cry:
 
You know, Keanu Reeves said last year he'd be interested in doing another Bill & Ted movie, if Alex Winter was up for it. Who knows what might come of that...?
