wet laptop! what now?

I got it running again, it's pretty stable now
but a couple buttons seem sticky, especially the 'b',

I thought about the water flush thing, but...I'm not gonna wait like a week for it to dry and hope it still works, I'll just try to clean the keys

Call Dell and find out if you have complete care warrenty. If so just tell them what happened and they will take care of you. If you didn't buy complete care, I would take the notebook apart and clean it. If the keyboard keys are still sticky order a new one they are 20-30 bucks I think and it only involves removing two screws to replace. Takes all of about two mintues.

Pretty much... If you don't like the weather, wait five minutes. What parts? Are the cicadas out in full force?

Glad to hear you got it up and running again.

you could have just taken a blow dryer and open the laptop and dry it up.. simple solution and near future DONT TURN on THE LAPTOP just remove the battery and power plug and get blow dryer and you are set.. :)

P.S and next time dont be dumbass and drink around electronic devices or you wont be so lucky.

someone early in the morning while I was at work, about 1am to 5am, broke into my truck, didn't steal anything, but just tried to break my lock, and broke a window out...this is usually why I don't tell ppl where I'm at, especially if they know I'll be inside unable to see what's going on outside, safety reasons nm
