wet laptop! what now?

goddammit! yesterday I was drinking lemonade, about to check my email and being a dumb stupid ass I spilled an entire cup of it onto my laptop,,it went everywhere, luckly I saved the speakers cause they cost a lot, the burner cause it cost a lot too, but the laptop got soaked through the keys and the bottom was a bit wet...and this is fucking lemonade, it's gonna get all sticky and shit....I tried taking most of it apart and drying it out with qtips..the manual said let it air dry 24 hours on it's side....any suggestions?
I'm sure this happened to others, if not, I feel real stupid right now cause I probably killed a laptop that I got from my grandfather who passed away last august...if u need the make, it's a dell inspirion 2650, in case neone is willing to help, I'm not expecting any though...oh and everyone can call me a dumbass cause I think I deserve it, I don't know what I was thinking
 
pour water on it, i'm dead serious

it won't do any worse damage than the lemonade did and it should take down some of the stickiness
 
we had some water spill in a friends laptop a few years back. generally the manufacture won't cover ANYTHING since they know its liquid damage. i ended up taking the laptop apart to dry it out and let it sit under a fan for the day, then left it for a few more days... i got it to boot up fine, and to this way it still works.... though it never seemed to run the same so i ended up getting her a desktop to use.

i'd totally recommend gumercules' suggestion, though you may wanna open it up before just dumping water in ;)

MAKE SURE YOU DON'T TURN IT ON FOR A FEW DAYS OR THE WATER WILL FRY IT
 
i think i finally got it too work. i know some on comp. so i opened ii up and cleaned i ou. sill open hough and he t won't work oh wait got it. i took all the keus off so sorry about spelling the b isb bbbb stibcking though, maybe tommorrow it will e better, oy..i just don't wanna spend lots of money on this..fuckin did it myself. always cost cheaper that way
 
it's a nice laptop, runs hell of lot faster than my dads computer, plays games better and everything, my grandfather got it like two years ago, so it's pretty new I guess, and my grandmother thought it would be nice to give it to her first grandson entering college which I started at the time he passed away, no conspiracy though, even though I needed one..but they live louisiana which I'm visiting in the future, I live in good ol ohio, where the weather changes constantly and yet the allergies stay the same
