Westworld

They're showing this on BBC1 at the moment and I'm just thinking of the chase scene between Yul Brunners robot character and one of the guests, with the moustache. It's one the the best and nail biting chase scenes I've seen in my opinion and I'm sure it must have inspired some of the Terminator.

It's a great film :)

I love this film aswell and to be honest I don't normally agree with remakes, but with todays special effects I bet a really fab remake could be done :)

I just loved Yul Brunner's facial expressions, there's a part when he cannot sense the guy and he has this lost look on his face, like his meaning is gone. I just think it was a completely brilliant performance.

Remake - I dunno, I always say if it ain't broke don't fix it. And you can't trust Hollywood to do it justice they'll probably have Leo Di Caprio playing the robot :D

lol I think he may be a bit too wooden to play the robot :D

But I agree with you about Yul Brynner, he is totally believable as the robot.
On a totally female point of view though. I wish the better looking of the two male guests had survived :D

A number of films were spawned from Crichton works, though Westworld remains as one of the best Sci-Fi concepts going ( human v uncontrollable android).

Any remake will have to be good, as a lot of other films released in the past 32 years have taken all the slants of the original.

If you buy this film on R1 dvd beware of the Warner release which has it incorrectly scoped at 1.85:1(probably what the BBC showed).
The original MGM disc has the correct full 2.35:1 ratio

Don't not remake this movie - I love Yul Brunner in this, what would be the point, different characters, different location, more money - worse movie

Remakes for the sake of remake - Leave it alone for gawRAB sake
