I don't think "practices" is the correst term, but whatever....
for example:
-in Islam, Muslim women wear hijab, niqab, or burqa. but if you think about where Islam originated, it was in the Middle East. it was hot there all the time, so people would cover their head and entire bodies to protect themselves from the hot sun that they were in all the time. (btw, God does not specifically tell Muslim women in the Quran to cover themselves completely, but to dress modestly) .
-in Islam, dating is not allowed (I do understand the reason for it in todays society)....but does God even tell Muslims in the Quran not to be in pre (or is it post?)-marraige relationships? if I'm correct, back then, especially in that part of the world, dating was not allowed anyhow. it was all arranged marraiges. but it appears to me as if Muslims have taken that part of the culture and made it part of the religion as well

there are some other things too, but the details are already long enough....
