The forbidden fruits would fall to the ground, if nobody ate them. Pigs would have been handy to clean up the place. Don't you think?

Come to think about it, why did the pigs get special treatment? God forbade people to eat them.

No. I believe God started to teach humans His unclean food laws with Adam and Eve. That is why Abel offered a lamb and not a pork roast to God.
 
Have you ever been around hogs in hot weather (like the middle east). They are very unclean and wallow in their own feces to keep cool as they have no sweat glands.
