were is the carburetor in a 1998 ford escort...plz?

we have a 1998 ford escort that will not start, after getting gas. But, turns out more wrong with it then we think; let's just start with the carburetor.

It doesn't have a carburettor!

More likely than not the fuel pump has failed. Luckily, on that car access to the pump is under the rear seat. Remove the seat and the access panel right under where the left passenger would sit.

If you aren't aware that it is fuel injected and not carburetted, you best let someone else work on it though.
 
well first of all, it does not had a carb, this car is fuel injected, like all cars after 1988. take it to a mechanic, that's all i can tell you.
