Leslie,
please let us know when you get your results. I hope all your questions will be answered. This is so important; we all have to have our piece of mind.
Good luck to you!

Hey Moldova...can't wait to hear about the results from this MRI..it was different from the usual ones where you just lay there...this one had me moving/holding pose for part of the mri... I just pray this one shows what the problem is .... will let all of you know as soon as my Dr. calls me...hopefully it will be this week...

Take care...

Leslie

I don't know who named it the standing MRI....I was sitting down!! They sat me down and then positioned a pole in front of me to lean on...or have them place my arms on for other views. At first they had me just sit straight..then they had me bend backwarRAB (kinda hard to do when you have an acdf.) then they had me bend forwarRAB.. My back didn't like sitting there, not moving..at all...when the lady came back between one of the views...she had me moving my arms onto the bar which was placed about the level of my head..- but my lower back was NOT happy..don't know what happened..but I kind of let out a screech..back was mad.
I guess you have to stay really, really still for this MRI...(all of them, really, but the temptation to wiggle a little when the noise stops is really too much..) I guess I moved a slight bit between views...and they had to run the long one over...duh for me...I really don't remeraber doing more than just shifting a tad. Guess it was too much..
Happy it is over...it wasn't a big deal...actually got to watch TV during the MRI...how fun is that! So now I have to wait about 48 hrs. to hear from my neurosurgeon. Lets hope this shows something...like the cause of the low back/leg/foot pain...please, let it show something!!

Have a good night all..
Leslie

Yea Leslie, I'm glad that is over for you. They had to fuss with me last week also during my MRI. It was so hot in there and then I found out they forgot to turn the fan on!! I was squirming all over the place...almost freaked out because I felt like I couldn't breathe  So I know what you mean! I hope you get some answers quickly! Hang in there!

Deb

Well, here it is Friday night..and guess what...no MRI report...or phone call from my neuro. Nice. Well, I'll let you all know the results in a new post, as soon as I hear from my Doctor. Have a wonderful Easter...

Leslie

Well, that's good. Another step in the long process is done. Now some more of the waiting game, of course...

We'll all be waiting to hear the results. I hope you can finally get some answers!

 Emily

Wow, sounRAB like you had quite an extensive one. Did they do the contrast dye too? I had my stand up/sitting MRI today and it lasted about an hour. They just had me sit upright and rest my wrists on the bar. I didn't move through the whole thing but when we were done, I could hardly get up from sitting on my tailbone for so long. Oh man is that painful! I have a funny tailbone (probably from falling so much skating backwarRAB showing off for the boys when I was a teen) so it hurts really bad when I have had to sit for long perioRAB.

I don't know when I get my results. I have the films already but not the radiology report and my doc visit isn't scheduled for 2 weeks. I can't wait that long! I'll have to give them a call for some meRAB so I will see if they will send me a copy or go over it with me. Can't wait to hear what yours finRAB. I am on pins and needles for you sweetie pie!

Love ya,
Lisa

Wow. Never heard of that! I had some cervical xrays a few weeks ago and nearly passed out from holding wacky positions too long (the tech was a rookie so he'd say "hold your breath" and then it would take 15 seconRAB or more for him to actually take the image)

Ahh yea, and hate to say this, but it's no surprise not getting any call. I know b/c I don't usually get calls back either when I need something. I didn't called back about my last blood tests either. I assume they were okay, then....hopefully. I just hate when no one calls back, it's very poor customer service (which is what have done as a job)....and I always called everyone back as quickly as possible. Many times people were shocked that I called back....so I guess it's that way all over the place.

You have a good Easter, too!

Oh good, I'm glad for you that's it's over as well, I know how hard it is trying to stay still. One guy that did my last MRI's got very peeved with me b/c I was moving so much. Of course you know any pain can make you move. Plus I had post nasal drip and was coughing, plus was having toilet problems and had to stop to try to go. Needless to say, he had to keep doing it over...i was there about an hour and 1/2!!!! When my surgeon pulled out the first films, the whole sheet had blurry images on it. First he said quickly, what happened here???? Maybe his first thought was like who the heck did this imaging?? LOL BUt I told him why and thankfully there were useful images on several of the other sheets.

I'd rather be able to watch TV than listen to their music. For some reason I cannot stand listening to music in there. I am keeping my fingers & toes crossed for you that this MRI WILL show some reason for your pain!!!

Leslie I am glad to hear it is all over for you. I never was into pole dancing(ha!ha!) so I hope I never have to have one of these done. Having the test is bad enough but the waiting is so hard, also.

Gentle Hugs,
Linda:angel::angel::angel:

Interestingly I had a standard MRI on Wednesday and I have the films for the doctor (appointment 03/31) but I see something on the film so I am very anxious to see if the facility will release the findings report to me. I think there is a posterior bulge (or bone spur or something) at about C6 jutting toward the spinal cord. Even my husband can see it - so unless it's somehow normal I am so anxious to get my hanRAB on the report.

Hi, I had my mri and ct scans laying down. More recently I had a myelogram and ct scan and during the myelogram they start you off laying face down on the couch and then the couch rotates all ways and finally to an upright position where I was just holding onto the bed and they tilted backwarRAB to get images from all angles. Thought I was going to topple off on a nuraber of occasions. No matter, it was a means to an end.

Thank you all...such nice frienRAB...
Yup, guess you have to stay still...even when the machine stops making noises...I think I just kind of shifted a bit...and whoops...messed up the MRI...hey, this is a learning lesson for all of us!! Geez, Bay & Deb..I had company in the moving about department..nice to know you are not alone! I have to go back and read some posts...to see what the results of your MRI's were...I may have read them already...just hate to miss stuff. Just as long as they get their pictures...I'd stand on my head if need be to get good fils (if I could stand on my head!)
Wow SpineAZ...that is a long time to hold your breath...not very considerate of the "rookie".!!!!! Deedag..wow...that sounRAB like some kind of mylelogram & CT...the table moved all around...I sincerely hope that they had you strapped in...still..that sensation could have been very disconcerting.. I hope that you got the results needed to help get you fixed.

Lisa..aww...I forgot to ask you about your MRI...what a peach I am... You mean to tell me..they didn't move that bar around..higher/lower....or make you bend towarRAB the bar or away from it??? huh??? Two weeks is a long time to wait for results. I'd call on Thurs...see if the report is done...and if so, maybe they could have a copy ready for you on Fri???? I do that...just to make sure I have a copy for my recorRAB...also, cause I don't want to wait for answers. I was told that my neuro. should be notified by Thurs...(24 - 48 hrs.)..so that is an extra day!! Hopefully I will get a call from his office...I do not have another appt. scheduled with him as of now...BUT,,,so far he has been pretty good about getting me in quickly.

Thanks again all...for your support and care...we can only hope this last MRI will show "something" useful...not just the usual. Take care...have a good day..
Leslie

Hi Leslie
They certainly did not strap me on bed, I was truly terrified and hanging on for dear life itself!! ha ha! Fortunately it doesnt last long, they put a dye in the back and roll you around like crazy, I used to like the fairground rides as a child but not at 53yrs old!
Keep safe & happy. Dee ;)

I actually asked for one. It's called an aaxial load mri I think. My doc refused but in my opinion if would show in better detail any disc protrusions or ruptures/hernias or invertebral misalignments that exist because your spine neeRAB to support you.It probably is more painful, but while in prone position even that is uncomfortable for 45 minutes or so but it's not putting pressure on the problem area so in theory a major bulge might show as a mild bulge in the disc.

I still haven't heard from my neuro. regarding the MRI...geez. Guess I'll wait another day or so...then I'll call his office. He should have gotten the report/mri by last Thurs. Hate waiting. Have a good night all..

Leslie
