it was just a way to piss on fans even more (or in bay's/spielberg to shut the fans up to supposed 'rape' of their childhood)

We are well aware of the many incarnations of Transformers, "BUT" as it has already been stated time and time again, when this movie was announced Don Murphy said that this movie will be "based" on Generation 1 of the TF's, not Armada, not Cybertron , not Beast Wars or any other variation of transformers. This is the factor that has upset fans, had he said the movie was loosly based on the Transformers francise in general, well that would completely change the perception of the movie and the opinion of most of the fans out there. (this is where our anger comes from)
when dealing with fans that have a passion and knowledge of the Transformers, this mistake is inexcusable (say what you will, tf has been around for 20+ yrs and as fans we are entitled to our reason/opinions for the direction bay/spielberg decided to do). Look at the trouble he has caused, will he take responsability for his actions? I seriously doubt it. all bay has said is 'fuck off' on his boards. not to mention all the banning from the don murphy boards.
yeah, it's just a movie (in name only). it's just a different tf movie. that is all.
hope the movie fails and gets a reboot like the hulk.
