Last year, meaning December or a year ago? Either way, I've only been
aware of it for a matter of weeks, maybe two months. Haven't seen the
show.

Guy is STILL doing DDD and also has been doing "Minute to Win It"
since last year - I think it was a mid-year replacement, but may have
been running longer than that. It has had one full season, and is
starting another, from what I read.

He can do both shows, as he has been doing, no problem. I don't know
why people think he has to quit the Food Network in order to host a
game show. He's very entertaining, no matter what he's doing, IMO,
but I know lots of people don't like to watch him. Each to own and
all that.

I think motor technology has improved quite a bit since the old days
when you had to go out on the highway to blow dirt out of the engine.
LOL. I doubt the Lamborghini is suffering at all, going only 65 mph.
Here in Iowa, he could go 75 mph on most of the 4-lanes.

That's on NBC and not FN? Huh. I've seen the ads for it, maybe I
caught a show. If I did, it was like Minute to Win it was for me and
I didn't watch the entire show. It's another cooking competition,
right?

I don't care what they can do. A car is just another mode of

SF lives a sheltered life.

Real life on CA freeways starts at 70mph. When I commuted 35 miles to
work, I hadda move over to the slow lane (of 5) cuz almost EVERYONE
else was driving 75-80 mph.

FUN FACT: The unlimited speed limit in NV is a myth. I was driving
about 93 mph on Hwy 50, miles from anywhere or anyone. In the
distance came a car. We were closing so fast I couldn't make it out.
Nv State Patrol! After he passed me, I looked in rearview mirror to
see him screeching through a U-turn. I pulled over.

He was a nice guy and we chatted while he wrote me up. He told me I
was doing 93 mph. I didn't know they could nail you, accurately, from
the opposite direction while moving. They can! I asked him about the
supposed NV speed law that's says there's no limit if there are no
buildings with 500 yds of hwy, or something to that effect. He
laughed. "Everyone belives that. It's just not true". I mailed the
$90 fine in a couple mos later. ;)

They've been able to do that for a long time. I think it's mainly

Couldn't bribe him with a doughnut?

Interesting. The speed limit in Iowa (and some other states) back in
the 40s used to be "reasonable and proper." Meaning, use common
sense. My dad got a ticket once here in Iowa, not going terribly
fast, but we had a 2-wheel camping trailer that was bouncing around a
little bit, and the trooper thought his speed wasn't "reasonable and
proper."

(FYI, nb, radar works both directions. ;-)

So I've learned. In CA, when you drive fast on freeways, you're
usually 1-4 lanes over from oncoming traffic. That, plus the fact the
CHP never used radar. That was beginning to change about the time I
left.

In that case you should find the Trans Am amusing. On the one hand
there's this fancy European thing that costs half a million dollars and
can do, maybe, 230. Then there's this 20 year old Pontiac that some guy
in California beat on a little bit and it does over 270. And the guy
with the Pontiac also has a 220 mph diesel pickup truck. And the two of
them together cost him way, way less than the fancy eurocrap.
