we recently moved from a small mostly white town in S.E. Missouri and now live in larger more racially diverse city in northern illinois.
Until now, the only black people my kids have ever seen (Tv not included) is our friend Rico and his daughter.
We had a meet the teachers day for our kid's school. We were in my daughters class with a bunch of other parents listening to the teachers talk about the years upcoming activities when all of a sudden one of my little girls stands up and yells happily " Daddy! There are six black people in here, see look, 1..2...3.. and she loudly counted everyone as she pointed them out.
I had never been embarrassedsed but they all just laughed.
Ok just because I have to ask a question here we go with it..........how are you this fine day?
