Recently i added two pieces of wood in my aquarium and somehow the water has turned into a yellow color? What is it? Will it kill my fish? Please Help

Your water has turned yellow because the wood you put in your tank is releasing something called "tannins." Tannins will color your water and may alter the pH of your tank, but other than that they're harmless. Just keep an eye on the pH.

A nice bonus of tannins is that they are thought to have a fungicidal and antibacterial effect, but if you find that the color bothers you, a carbon filter will eventually clarify your water.

Good luck! :)

The wood is releasing tannins into your water. To avoid this most people either soak the wood for a few weeks prior to adding it to the aquarium, or they boil it.

It's normal, safe for your fish assuming the wood is meant for aquarium use, and some people actually like the tea color to recreate a more accurate South American look.

If it bothers you, you can remove it and try the above methods.

ahh i added a huge 20$ driftwood log in my 75 gal that i had and yes it will turn the tank colors ur supposed to let it sit in water b4 u put it in ur tank it shouldnt hurt much i would use a clearifying filter in ur canister filter if u have one and then use the clear water chem.
