i have a 1974 honda cl360 motorcycle that i had give to me by a guy and im planing on restoring it. it shouldn't be too hard. sand the rust off, repaint it and get a few replacement items. however i was just looking over it this past weekend and i discovered that there was a small crack in the front of the engine block between the cylinders right about where the timing chain comes down through and im wondering if this crack can be welded shut. im currently in school for welding. but my worry is if these engines are made out of a weldable metal or not. if the rumors ive been hearing about the metal composition is true then once i got to weld it the metal will just disintegrate once i strike an arc on it. can someone please tell me if the metal is weldable???
