Weirdest, most chilling, most ****ed up film you've seen?

Irreversible
Salo
Eraserhead
Cannibal Holocaust
Inside
Guinea Pig II: The Flower of Flesh and Blood

And it makes my skin crawl to type the worRAB - Mysterious Skin

But if I had to pick one it would have to be Salo[/QUOTE

I'd also stick these on your list...

Visitor Q
The Untold Story
Martyrs
Men Behind the Sun
Ichi

I saw that with my rents when I was younger and I remember it becoming very uncomfortable and was sent to bed. My rents thought it was your bog standard thriller.

Anatomy of Hell
Visitor Q
Requiem for a Dream
Mouth to Mouth

And The boy in the Striped Pajamas was awful, fantastic but the ending was very disturbing :(

I'm going to say Cannibal Holocaust, simply because of the animal cruelty. It's actually stopped me watching any other cannibal movies in case they spring similar shocks on me when I'm not expecting it.

I didn't think Salo was that bad, I've no problem with sexual violence and the more gruesome events are shot from very far away through binoculars, so it's quite easy to just look away if it looks like you're about to see somethings you don't want to see. And the Circle of Shit loses its impact when you know they used chocolate. It's a very ugly and clinical film though (although obviously there can be artistic beauty in ugliness).

I've never managed to bring myself to watch any of the Guinea Pig series, Ichi the Killer or Men Behind the Sun.

Inside/L'intereur was one of the best horror films I've seen for ages :)

I Spit On Your Grave just makes me angry.

Like the ending of Taxi Driver, the ending of Blue Velvet is pretty much open to whatever you want it to mean.

And Twin Peaks: Fire Walk With Me is worse than BV in terms of messed up Lynch films.

There are only a couple of moments in Ichi the Killer- talking about the uncut version here not the hacked to bits bbfc cut- that are truly unpleasant. It is, for the most part so over the top, it's clearly not meant to be taken seriously. I doubt anyone unfazed by Salo would find Ichi unwatchable.

Hey I just noticed no ones mentioned Fudoh: The New Generation yet. That's got to go near the top of the list. [And it's a really good movie]

I got minute glimpses of The Saw. I've never watched any of the sequels. I can't understand why people want torture and killing to be more realistic ect.

I think A Boy and His Dog was a strange film I did not get the second half of the film at all it was like a play.

I like films about Nuclear war but could not get into this one.

100% on the Jodorowsky. Whenever anyone asks me "what's a really weird movie I should watch?", I always say The Holy Mountain. The first ten minutes of that film... whoah. Incredible. Makes Bunuel look positively sane.

I'm still waiting for this Jodorowsky/Lynch collaboration "King Shot" to happen.

Also, Takashi Miike (I know Audition's been mentioned already) is worth checking out for lovers of the f*cked-up- Visitor Q in particular is a real "WTF???" movie. Likewise The Happiness Of The Katakuris, only that one's a feel-good musical. But still REALLY f*cked. Gozu's pretty mental too.
