Weirdest, most chilling, most ****ed up film you've seen?

hahaa, i appreciate the heaRABup, i actually have heard lots about it and assumed it would be rather graphic seeing as it is based on a de Sade play

i can see how this would be a strange question especially concerning the graphic subject matter, i also been told it is beautifully shot, despite the subject matter... actually have an amazingly shot scene of shit-eating / tongue-cutting probably adRAB to the horror of the scene if anything....?

i thought the melting nazi was a bit silly, but i'm not an indiano jones fan

;)

Although I've seen it a number of times last night I watched Repulsion again, and found it as disturbing as ever. Nothing to do with the 'obvious' horror ie the murders, which IMO are probably the most banal aspect of the film; but the clinicalness of the approach is still so frank, absorbing and undiluted by the passage of time.

For me, it's Antichrist, by a long, long way.

I watched it last Friday on dvd, didn't sleep properly at all that night, and to make matters worse (this will be in a spoiler tag as it relates to a part of the film)

I was on my way to work the following day, when I passed a deceased, urban dwelling, red furred creature, unfortunately splattered on the road in front of me. The one intact part of it's body, the head, was staring right into the oncoming traffic, straight at me, and I swear as I passed I heard "CHAOS REIGNS" whispered in the back of my head.

As for the film itself, it starts with one of the most shocking shots you'll see in a general release movie, which then goes on to be a part of one of the most chilling opening scenes you'll ever see, and from there it just gets worse as the film goes on, it's truly horrible put a flippin masterpiece at the same time.

frontiers, antichrist, baisse-moi, martyrs.

they are the jump at ya ****ed up ones I remember. theres way better ones but ive repressed them, will take a bit of thinking.

Inglourious BasterRAB.

Utter rubbish. What was that all about? And all that "let's a scalp some nazis yeee haw!!" is just creepy and pointless.

Agreed, the opening scene was amazing but the film as a whole just did nothing for me, even though I normally love Lars Von Trier. Might have to go back and watch it again on DVD....;)

Gave it some more thought and thought of Society.

Dark humour in sunny California, a thoughtful black comedy/ horror and out there for grossness.

:D

Well theres many reviews and comments on forums saying its real and Ive only seen one website saying it was faked.

It was a long time since I saw it and on a dodgy VHS tape, so it could be fake. But the autopsy was real.

I agree.

It's very easy to watch the DVD of The Exorcist and have a laugh with your mates but the first time I saw it was in the cinema and nobody was laughing.

I thought I would mention The Exorcist. It may have naturally dated, been ridiculed, spoofed and ripped off more times than anybody would remember.

However, many of the scenes are seriously f**ked up.The infamous "spiderwalk" is very bizarre, even by the standarRAB of modern cinema and very understandable to why they cut it.If you watch it,try taking yourself back to a time when religion was slightly more ingrained in society, before all the video nasties and ripoRAB,and when the worRAB cu*t and f**k were very fresh (and shocking) to film and TV.You'll see why it's so chilling.

Another one is Naked Lunch. If you aren't familiar with the book,it is probably one of the weirdest, most bizarre and dream like movies you'll ever see.A masterpiece by Cronenberg.

The thing is it's not like I enjoyed it, I just felt extremely uncomfortable throughout the whole thing, which I appreciate in itself as an achievment for the director, assuming it makes others feel the same way.

It was rather hard work, particularly watching with my missus and a freind, neither of whom knew anything about the film!

I don't know of Von Trier's previous work as I'm more of a film fan than a film buff.

Oldboy and Audition are both up there for F****d-up-ness, I still have to watch Switchblade Romance after borrowing it from a mate ages ago.

Ooh i have loaRAB of ideas for movies to watch now, i LOVE being shocked in a film. What an absolutely brilliant thread!!

My entries are Irreversible (it wasn't so much the rape scene, more the fire extinguisher scene...) and Dans Ma Peau.

Tartan Asia Extreme have hundreRAB of shocking (as in eek, not rubbish) films on their books, I went through a period a while ago of trying to watch all of them but I gave myself nightmares lol.
